Collaborative decided to support increasing inclusion in the
construction industry through increasing the awareness of
minority-owned companies. In the future, the website’s
focus may be further expanded to continue the effort of
inclusion.
Do I have to be certified to be
listed on the website?
No.
Companies that are interested in working with you may
require certain certifications based on their company’s
policies.
What organization certifies
Minority Owned Businesses?
Certifications can come from local, state and federal
government as well as third-party certification
organizations (e.g., National Minority Supplier Development
Council - NMSDC and Women Business Enterprise National
Council – WBENC).
If my company is listed on the
website will I be guaranteed contracts?
No.
Being listed on the website is an opportunity to increase
awareness of your business to companies that may be
interested in your goods or services.
How do I get my company listed on the

You need
to fill out and submit a company profile form. This form
will be reviewed to ensure that information required on the
form is complete. If the form requirements are not
complete, then the company will be notified that additional
information is needed. If the form requirements are met,
then the company will be notified and the company’s
information will be posted on the website.
Who will be able to see my
information listed on the website?
Information on the website will be available to the general
public.
Will my information listed on the
website be sold?
No. The
Collaborative and sponsoring members will not sell your
information. Information on the website will be available
free to the general public.

If you
have one company that provided multiple services, the
website allows you to list your multiple services by CSI
code up to 3 services.
What is a CSI code listed in the
company profile?
CSI
(Construction Specification Institute) Codes classify the
division of the construction industry into services that are
provided. Depending on the number of services that a
company provides, it can be listed under multiple codes.

request in writing your desire for the removal of your
information. This request needs to be made by use the
“Contact Us” website section. Your information will be

sponsoring organization with a link or contact information
for registration.
How do I get my bid opportunity
posted on the website?
Companies
will be allowed to post a summary of the bid opportunity and
the link or contact information for additional information.
Bid opportunities must be submitted in writing through the

Can I export a list of contractors
from this website?

Individual company profiles can be printed from the website.
How do I know the companies
listed are qualified to do the work stated?
It will
be the responsibility of the companies seeking MBEs to
determine if the MBE can meet the qualifications of the
contract.
How do I learn more about each
company (e.g., References, Safety (EMR) rating,
Certification(s), Bonding Capacity, Corporate Structure,
Business Size and Annual Business Volume)?
The
website provides the first step of awareness. It will be
the responsibility of the companies seeking MBEs to contact
them and ensure that they can meet your requirements.
Are the companies listed Union Members?
There is
no requirement of being union or non-union to be posted on
the website.
How
does my company become a sponsor?
A request
to become a sponsor needs to be sent the Collaborative. The
member sponsors will review the request and determine if the
requesting organization’s mission is aligned with the
mission of the Collaborative. A decision on the request for
membership / sponsorship will be made and communicated
within 60 days.
